Our Accredited Exercise Physiologists work in the application of exercise for clinical and pathological situations where it has been shown to provide a therapeutic, preventative or functional benefit. We advocate a multi-disciplinary approach to the management of musculoskeletal injuries and diseases including arthritis, joint replacements, knee reconstruction surgery, arthroscopic surgery, fractures, articular cartilage implantation (MACI®), work injury and motor vehicle rehabilitation.
The treatment plans are patient specific and include a combination of land-based resistance and aerobic exercise. Hydrotherapy, remedial massage, weight management, dietary advice and diabetes education can also be incorporated into the programs. Private health fund rebates are available depending upon the patient’s level of cover. Patients can also be referred by their General Practitioners on the Enhanced Primary Care plan.
Our Accredited Exercise Physiologists are accredited with Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA), which is the peak body representing the interests of Exercise Physiologists in Australia. Musculoskeletal rehabilitation is a specialist accreditation, open only to those full members with the necessary knowledge, skills and experiences to attain this status.
Please note that a referral is not necessary for private Exercise Physiology treatment.
